A.W. Martin Construction, Inc. 24-hour line 609-799-1333

Most of the water is already out of sight.

A.W. Martin Construction has run a 24-hour water mitigation and mold remediation service across Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania since 2008. We find what soaked into the wall cavity, the carpet pad and the slab, and we dry it before it turns into mold.

General contracting since 1991. IICRC certified in water, fire and mold since 2008.

It already happened. Here is the first ten minutes.

Pick what you are looking at. These are the things worth doing before anyone arrives, and what our crew does once we are through the door.

Do this now

    What we do on arrival

Five services, one crew, one file.

Mitigation and rebuild under the same roof, so the people who dried your house are the people who put it back together.

Drag the line. Same room, both ends of the job.

Mitigation is only half of it. These are real A.W. Martin projects, from the day we arrived to the day the owner moved back in.

Drag the handle. This is the shape of a typical residential loss: what happens, when, and what the meters say while it happens.

      The call

Someone picks up, day or night. We take the address, what is leaking, whether the power is on, and dispatch from there.

Timings are typical, not a promise. A slab, a plaster ceiling and a finished basement all dry at their own pace, which is why we measure instead of guess.

Water does not stay in the room it started in.

Pick where it started and push the clock forward. This is roughly how a loss travels through a single-storey plan, and when each room crosses into mold territory.

Choose a source to start the clock.

Illustrative, not a prediction. Real spread depends on the volume, the flooring, the framing direction and whether anyone shut the water off. Mold is generally considered a risk once material has been wet for 24 to 48 hours.

      Jobs that were not small.

Hurricanes, a machine shop under fifteen inches of roof water, and a three-hundred-home contaminant remediation across five states.

Fifteen inches of water on a flat roof, raining into a machine shop

A severe storm and a clogged roof drain left the flat roof holding fifteen inches of water, which came down through the deck onto four thousand square feet of machinery, specialised equipment and office space. Twenty men worked a five-day cycle of drying, mitigation and mold remediation. Eighty per cent of the office area needed drywall cut a foot up from the floor and the carpet taken out so the assembly could dry.

Hurricane Florence: a hundred apartment units and several luxury homes

A.W. Martin Construction joined the restoration effort after Hurricane Florence, working through roughly a hundred apartment units alongside several luxury residential properties. Storm work at that scale is a logistics problem as much as a drying one: crews, equipment and documentation all have to keep pace with a hundred separate claims.

A toxic coating removed from more than three hundred new homes

Across the Northeast, A.W. Martin led the remediation of a toxic chemical coating used in over three hundred high-end, new-construction homes. Crews worked in full personal protection equipment throughout: face masks, respirators, full body suits and controlled ventilation of every work area.

A tree through the roof, and water all the way to the basement

A large tree came down on this house during a torrential thunderstorm, taking out three quarters of the roof system. Water flooded two second-floor bathrooms, two bedrooms, the hallway and the stairs, then reached the foyer and kitchen and soaked through the floor into the basement. Drywall and flooring came out of every affected room; in the basement, only the flooring needed to go.

      Who we work for.

The equipment is the same. What changes is how fast the building has to be back in use, and who has to be kept out while we work.

      Residential

Single-family homes, condos and rentals, from a laundry supply line to a whole-house rebuild.

      Commercial & industrial

Factories, offices and warehouses, scheduled around production so downtime stays short.

      Healthcare

Clinics and hospitals, with containment and cleaning that keeps compliance intact.

      Education

Schools, colleges and universities, usually working to a term break or a Monday deadline.

      Hospitality

Hotels and resorts, floor by floor, so the rest of the property keeps taking guests.

      Retail

Shops and malls, prioritised around getting the sales floor open again.

We write it in the format your carrier already reads.

      What the file contains

      • Photographs of the loss before anything is moved
      • Infrared imagery showing the extent of saturation
      • Moisture readings taken at first visit and logged daily
      • Equipment counts, placement and run time
      • Scope of removal and the reason for each item
      • A Xactimate estimate in the carrier's format
      • Drying records confirming the dry standard was met

      Who actually shows up.

Restoration work happens in someone's home, often at three in the morning, often around contaminated water. That puts a floor under who we send.

      IICRC certified since 2008

Certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, an ANSI-accredited standards developer for the trade, in water, fire and mold.

      Equipped for contaminated work

Current personal protection equipment, containment and negative air where the category of water calls for it.

      Licensed, insured and bonded

Crews carry workman's compensation and liability coverage, so an injury on your property does not become your problem.

The questions people ask at 3am.

Short answers. Call the line if yours is not here.

How fast can you get here?

The line is answered around the clock and dispatch starts on that call. Response time depends on where you are and what else is running, which is why we tell you an honest window on the phone rather than a slogan.

Do I have to call my insurance company first?

No. Stopping the damage comes first, and most policies expect you to mitigate promptly. We document everything from the moment we arrive and write the estimate in Xactimate, so the file lands with your carrier in the format they already use.

Will my carpet and hardwood survive?

Sometimes. Carpet often can be saved when the pad is replaced and the water was clean. Hardwood depends on how long it sat and whether the subfloor is wet. We measure before deciding, because pulling material that could have been dried costs you money.

      How long does drying take?

Most residential losses reach the dry standard in about three days. A slab, a plaster ceiling or a finished basement can take longer. We take readings at the same points daily rather than guessing from how it looks.

Is mold always a problem after water damage?

Not always, but the window is short. Mold generally needs material to stay wet for 24 to 48 hours. That is the whole reason mitigation is an emergency service rather than something that waits for Monday.

Can you also rebuild what gets removed?

Yes. A.W. Martin Construction has been a general contractor since 1991, so the drywall, flooring, cabinetry and finishes go back in under the same company that dried the building.

Do you handle sewage and contaminated water?

Yes. That is Category 3 work and it changes the method: containment, negative air, removal of porous material and disinfection of what stays. Our technicians are IICRC certified and equipped for it.

If it is happening right now, call. Do not type.
